Hands down our most popular setting for its versatility, these are the essentials: an Entrée Plate; a Salad Plate (which we tend to use for snacks, too); a Cereal (or ice cream, or soup, or… anything) Bowl; and an Alaska Bowl, which works well for pasta or meal-sized salads. You’ll find these dishes hard at work in some of the world’s best restaurants, including The Girl & The Goat in Los Angeles and Lilia in Brooklyn. Start your dinnerware collection here, then add a few Fry Bowls and Gelées for holding garnishes, sauces, or salt and pepper.

Dark Brown / White is our foundational clay and glaze combination, available in the largest assortment of shapes. With this pairing, we apply a slightly thinner coat of glaze than on our Toasted clay—enabling some of the darker clay beneath to be seen and giving the glaze an off-white tone.

Inspired by the sand dunes of East Hampton, Dune glaze is slightly warmer than our classic white, but still pairs beautifully with other colors.

Moss is our most temperamental glaze. Subtle changes in the temperature of the kiln creates a variety of shades — ranging from a matte, neutral sage to a deeper pine-green with a slight sheen to it. We do not consider variation amongst this glaze to be a defect, the variety in fact, it is one of the things we love about it! After the glaze is applied, each piece is hand-wiped, which creates a soft transition on the rim, where the glaze fades into the clay.

Our Toasted / White combination has a brighter finish than our Dark Brown / White colorway. The clay also has grog—pre-fired, ground pottery that’s mixed into clay—which is a bit rougher in our Toasted clay than in our Dark Brown clay, but it smoothes out over time. (Think of it like breaking in a pair of raw denim, except you do none of the work.)
Something to be aware of: Little dark brown or black speckles may appear on the surface of the glaze where bits of iron come through.

This shade came out of a red-to-blue ombré experiment—lavender emerged in the middle, and we knew we had to keep it.

On this option, our Toasted clay and white glaze are topped with a hand-painted blue band near the inside rim of the piece. Each band is different from the last, with darker tones of blue where the brushstrokes overlap. You will sometimes see tiny specks of blue paint on the white glaze — a result of the band being painted as the piece is spinning on the wheel.

Similar to our Moss glaze, Turquoise comes in a range of hues — some pieces are a matte, robin's egg shade and sometimes you’ll even see swirls of a darker, shiny blue. This glaze is especially photogenic, framing food colorfully on the plate. (That said, it still has a neutral quality that allows it to pair nicely with any other glaze in our collection.)

At present, we are able to ship retail orders to the United States and Canada (please review our FAQ for additional information on Canadian import duties). We also ship internationally to restaurants and hospitality businesses that meet our order minimums. Please contact us at hospitality@jonopandolfi.com if you're interested in learning more about placing a hospitality order for delivery overseas.
When trying to decide if a glaze color or clay body is right for you, we recommend purchasing a smaller item like a Cereal Bowl in the color of choice to see it in person first. Our pottery is often made or glazed to order and very tricky to ship, so we try to provide our customers with as much guidance as we can in advance of ordering to minimize returns. That said, if you're not satisfied with what you receive, we'll issue a refund less a 15% restocking fee. (Restocking fees will be waived for orders under $50.)

Our Story
When Jono started the company in 2004, he had a simple mission: to design unique dinnerware options for the hospitality industry. He started small, with one wheel and one kiln, and collaborated with chefs, taking risks and learning from his mistakes. Then and now, his priority is to work directly with our clients, responding quickly and thoughtfully to their needs in ways that larger manufacturers can’t, resulting in dinnerware with a personal feel that sets our clients’ restaurants and dining rooms apart.

Our Process
Each piece that Jono has designed has its own unique production process, which can entail as many as 15 individual steps, and use methods such as slip casting, jiggering, and good old-fashioned wheel throwing. Our studio is equipped with 10 kilns and 6 wheels and we begin each day with the thrill of opening our Blaauw kiln to discover the finished pieces we loaded in the night before.
