This pair of bud vases — released as part of our 2025 Holiday Gift Guide — features two new shapes crafted in our sought-after Swirlware clay body. Each vase is made by hand using a time-intensive, crepe-like layering process to create the marbling that makes Swirlware so distinctive—no two pieces come out of the kiln exactly alike.
This set brings a subtle elegance to the holiday table, mantel, or as a thoughtful seasonal gift.
The 2025 Gift Guide is a capsule collection of limited-run pieces, many featuring exclusive glazes or other get-them-while-you-can details. This year’s collection was photographed by Liz Clayman at Binx, a pastel-walled West Village jewel box known for natural wine, small plates, and a late-night energy that feels unmistakably New York.
Round Vase: 3" W x 3.5" H and weighs about 0.5 lbs.
Cylindrical Vase: 2" W x 3.5" H and weighs about 0.25 lbs.
"Swirlware" is achieved by using a meticulous, time-intensive process that entails creating thin, crepe-like layers of our classic Dark Brown clay body with porcelain. We make a handful of adjustments to maintain the integrity of the swirled clays: There's no water used in this process, for example, and there is an extra trimming step to ensure the swirl pattern is uniformly defined.
The Swirlware Bud Vase Pair will ship within 5 - 10 business days.
At present, we are able to ship retail orders to home cooks within the United States. We also ship internationally to restaurants and hospitality businesses that meet our order minimums. Please contact us at hospitality@jonopandolfi.com if you're interested in learning more about placing a hospitality order for delivery overseas.
When trying to decide if a glaze color or clay body is right for you, we recommend purchasing a smaller item like a Cereal Bowl in the color of choice to see it in person first. Our pottery is often made or glazed to order and very tricky to ship, so we try to provide our customers with as much guidance as we can in advance of ordering to minimize returns. That said, if you're not satisfied with what you receive, we'll issue a refund less a 15% restocking fee. (Restocking fees will be waived for orders under $50.)

Our Story
When Jono started the company in 2004, he had a simple mission: to design unique dinnerware options for the hospitality industry. He started small, with one wheel and one kiln, and collaborated with chefs, taking risks and learning from his mistakes. Then and now, his priority is to work directly with our clients, responding quickly and thoughtfully to their needs in ways that larger manufacturers can’t, resulting in dinnerware with a personal feel that sets our clients’ restaurants and dining rooms apart.
Our Process
Each piece that Jono has designed has its own unique production process, which can entail as many as 15 individual steps, and use methods such as slip casting, jiggering, and good old-fashioned wheel throwing. Our studio is equipped with 10 kilns and 6 wheels and we begin each day with the thrill of opening our Blaauw kiln to discover the finished pieces we loaded in the night before.
